Aikido Australia and How to Get Started

Are you looking for some way to get fit but the thought of mindlessly running on a treadmill and pumping iron just fills you with dread? Do not worry, you are not alone as lots of people simply cannot exercise by going to the gym and there is really no point in paying for gym memberships when you know will not make use of it anyway. However, there is one way you can get fit and learn something new at the same time and it is by taking up aikido Australia dojos have to offer. You will not find a better way to lose weight and get fit fast plus, this is a great way to pick up a new skill and meet people at the same time.

Before you sign up for aikido Australia dojos have to offer, you first have to realize that this isn’t something you can do half-heartedly because aikido takes a lot of perseverance and practice especially if you want to get better and better at it. You cannot hope to improve and reach your goals if you miss training sessions and you do not take your master seriously. If you do not have any plans at all of taking aikido seriously, you are better off not signing up for aikido at all. That said it is time to look for a dojo.

Where to look for a dojo?

There are quite a lot of dojos you can check out and you can look for them online or you can check your local papers. It is a good idea to look for one that is neat your house or where you work so it is easy for you to go to training and you will not feel rushed all the time. Besides, you do not want to be late for aikido as the master will surely take this in a bad light and the other people in your dojo will not be too keen on constant lateness on your part as it disturbs their practice.

Visit or call?

Once you have found dojos that interest you, it is time to call them or pay them a visit; perhaps you can even do both. When you call, you can inquire as to their exact address and ask when you might be able to drop by to check things out and discuss things further. Some dojos will not require you to call and you can drop by anytime but it is but common courtesy to place a call so they at least know you are coming and you can also be sure that someone is there to help you out.

Costs?

Aikido Australia dojos offer will vary wildly in costs and it is up to you to determine what you can afford and how much you are willing to pay. Some dojos may charge you no more than $15 per sessions while other will charge you triple that. Ask them about training packages as these can really help you save a lot of cash.
