What Newcomers should do to prepare for Aikido North Sydney Classes

Everyone can get into Aikido. This is one martial art that is open to people of all ages, sex and physical abilities. Children as young as 4 years old and seniors as old as 60 can still come and attend the classes that are offered in the different Aikido North Sydney gyms. It is never too early or too late to get into an activity that has so many physical, mental and spiritual benefits. All of these will help in making one a better holistic being.

There are gyms that offer free trial classes which you may want to take advantage of. Before going for your trial class though, you need to know what to do so that when you come to class, you are well prepared and you know what to expect as well.

When you come to class, you have to know what to wear. This is important so that you can train comfortably and you will be able to move around with ease. Come to your first class wearing loose exercise clothes. Example you can use a track suit or training pants with a shirt. It is recommended that you use long pants to keep your knees protected and covered.

Another thing to do before coming for class is to make sure that you do not wear any jewelry. Fingernails and toe nails should also be cut short. These are important because these can cause minor injury to yourself or other classmates when doing your sparring, rolls and falls. Good hygiene should also be observed. Come to class with a clean body and fresh breath. You do not want to offend your teacher or your classmates. If you have unpleasant odor and dirty clothing this may affect the class as the other people may get uncomfortable and cannot train properly.

One your first day, you need to come to class early. It is best to come about 10 minutes before the scheduled start of class. You can use this time to sign any documents that are required. Also you can talk to the teacher or sensei and introduce yourself. Be prepared to hear basic Japanese terms which you will eventually learn. Before the formal classes start, the teacher will show you some warm up exercises. Expect to learn the basic rolls, falls and other techniques.

It is important that you are aware of these things so that you can readily start with your Aikido classes on your first day. When you are comfortable, you will find that you will enjoy the classes more. As you continue to attend and enjoy the classes, you will eventually start seeing and feeling the good benefits that Aikido can bring into your life. This will not only be for your benefit, it will also make you a better person to help the people around you at the same time. It is about time that you try Aikido and enroll your kids and other family members. Look for an Aikido North Sydney gym nearest you today.
